Super Random Delicious Shuffle Challenge 2

I enjoyed the ruskie roulette style randomness of the shuffle challenge so here is round two. Please don’t find my Scarlett Johansson tracks. I mean seriously why didn’t she make a sex tape like any other attention craved starlet. Press Play……

Alice in Chains – “Over Now (Unplugged Version)”

Outstanding, I haven’t listened to any AiC in a while but I have certainly put some burn marks on their discs over the years. They are my favorite band from the grunge era and produced a lot of great tracks before Layne Staley died. His death reminds of a bit from Denis Leary asking how come only the good musicians die when you could lock Motley Crew in a room with all the drugs in the world and they would come out with new double length live album. Anyway, the track is the acoustic version from the unplugged series which turned out awesome. The lyrics have a redemption and resolution theme and the line that wraps it up for me is, “we pay our debt sometime” which is repeated often throughout the track. Another verse that I like a lot says “When it’s all gone wrong, it’s hard to be so strong”. This was why I said that I thought of redemption since it indicates contriteness rather than an attitude of letting passing time absolve a crisis.

  1. Rolling…..and the winner is….

The Band - “The Last Waltz Suite: Theme From The Last Waltz”

What the hell is up with this? This is my second instrumental in a row. I don’t listen to many instrumentals as you can tell if you read this blog. As for this song, it is what it is. Song 3090/3686 on my old trusty Creative Vision.

Just as I am sitting here bitching, the second “random play all song” came on and it is another instrumental from the Scream soundtrack. I am starting to wonder if my MP3 player has a turn the words off feature.

  2. Fuck, damn, hell, and just plain shit

Rolled the dice… Cyndi Lauper “True Colors”… actually, the acoustic version came up. If you haven’t heard anything beyond “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, then you are really missing out. Cyndi is actually a great artist that has some lyrics that can just plain talk to you.
