Hank Williams III

Yes, I said Hank Williams III, not Jr.  I heard good things about Hank III’s punk fueled music a couple of years ago but it wasn’t offered on the music subscription service I had at the time. I looked for it and gave up.  I stumbled across some of his music tonight on youtube.  He sings a version of Punk Country and I gotta tell you, it is pretty good.

I am listening to his cover of the great Johnny Cash song “Cocaine Blues.”  He does an excellent job and I am sure his dad Bocephus is pretty damn proud.

“The judge smiled as he picked up his pen, 99 years in the Folsom state pen. 99 Years underneath that ground. I can’t forget the day I shot that bad bitch down. Come on you gotta listen unto me.  Lay off that whiskey and let that cocaine be.”
